LAND4CLIMATE Showcases Activities at Key Global Events
February presents valuable opportunities to highlight LAND4CLIMATE activities and results to an audience of environmental experts, practitioners, and policymakers.
Our coordinator, Stefan Greiving from TUDO, will be a key speaker at the inaugural session of the UN ESCAP 2025 Climate Conscious Cities Webinar Series on February 26, titled "Nature-based Solutions for Hot Cities". His contribution to this session, will focus on the implementation of tiny forests as Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) in the Country of Euskirchen, one of the LAND4CLIMATE front-running regions. His presentation will illustrate how urban areas can use natural resources to enhance climate resilience, mitigate rising temperatures, and foster biodiversity.
On February 27, he will also participate in the Science Policy Event "Nature-based Solutions for Urban-Regional Water Resilience: What to Do with Too Much Water?" hosted by ICLEI. This event will serve as a forum for discussing innovative strategies to manage excessive water through NBS. Stefan will provide deeper insights into LAND4CLIMATE's perspective on implementing NBS on private land.
These events underscore the importance of knowledge-sharing and collaboration in advancing effective climate strategies with NBS implementation. “They are great opportunities to bring our ideas to a wider circle of politicians and planning practitioners - not only in Europe, but also in the Global South.” Underlines Stefan Greiving.
