LAND4CLIMATE meets school
On 12 March 2025, the BOKU University Team visited Stiftgasse Elementary School to talk about climate change, natural hazards, and Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) in urban areas. During the session, the team presented the challenges that climate change brings to cities and explored potential solutions to reduce its impacts. In particular, Nature-Based Solutions were highlighted for their wide range of co-benefits, such as improving urban biodiversity, enhancing cooling during heat waves, and raising air quality. However, the discussion also addressed potential trade-offs, such as the risk of green gentrification. Together with the BOKU team, the students developed a Nature-Based Solutions concept and plan for their surrounding local neighbourhood.
