Financing and Insurance Innovation for Nature Based Solutions on Private Land

This session will explore how Nature-based Solutions on private land can move from isolated projects toward long term, scalable, and financially viable implementation. Together with experts from finance, regional development, urban resilience, and the built environment, we will discuss financing models, public private collaboration, governance challenges, incentives, and risk sharing approaches needed to scale NbS. The session will feature contributions from:
- Diana Espada from Bankers Without Boundaries on public support mechanisms and collaboration with private landowners
- Lenka Krištofová from the Agency for the Support of Regional Development Košice on water councils and adaptation grants
- Renata Haseth from Bankers Without Boundaries on scaling adaptation finance and private investment for resilience
- Paulo Palha from the European Federation of Green Roof and Green Wall Associations on Nature Positive Economy and green infrastructure
- Marina Trentin from Ambienteitalia on public private urban regeneration and brownfield transformation through NbS
